Graphics Design Degree - Bournemouth University

Commercial Photography Degree - Derby University

Much of my youth was spent in Southern Africa, where I travelled extensively with my family. My father introduced me to photography as he enjoyed exploring and documenting the wildlife and dramatic scenery. Here I believe, I first discovered my passion for photography.

My journey into professional photography began through photographing local equine events; I quickly learnt the technical demands and adaptability skills required for this field of location photography.

Soon after completing my first degree in graphics design, I began freelancing for the Western Gazette, arguably the best regional newspaper in the country. Working alongside well-experienced and inspiring colleagues, my knowledge and confidence grew quickly.

Stock photography opened up the opportunity to develop my understanding of studio photography. I thus learnt the art of studio lighting and gained the practical skills to create any given style in the studio or on location.

Editorial and the corporate automotive sector makes up the bulk of my professional work at the present. My work can be seen in most, mainline, motoring titles all around the world. I’m particularly passionate about the interaction between the motorcar and the diversity of the location. I’m enthralled by moody and evocative images which convey a strong narrative.

This is where my journey has taken me so far. Commercial advertising, corporate press and editorial car photography are the areas of the industry that I expect my work to impact most predominantly over next decade...
